Jenkintown High School club takes lead in community service projects locally and internationally. On Tuesday November 25 the Rotary Club of Jenkintown welcomed two Jenkintown High School students, Michaela Kolenkiewicz and Peter Giammanco, to their weekly club meeting. The students, members of the Jenkintown High School Interact Club, described the community service projects the club has undertaken in 2014. Interact is the high school extension of Rotary International. It is a service club which has an obligation to perform community service projects each year. This year Jenkintown’s Interact Club purchased and cooked meals for the elderly; baked and packaged cookies for cancer patients, donated over 400 pounds of candy to our troops and purchased and wrapped gifts for Head Start students in Philadelphia.
