"I think the suggestions from Dave & Karen are valid and useful. They are based on the experience they have with other clubs who’ve implemented them and are successful in their growth. I look forward to receiving their summary that I plan to use in the format for our Club Assembly January 7.
The key to our success lies in our ability to follow through with whatever actions are required to create change for the future of the club. We have great idea makers. We need more soldiers to implement them. I’ll do more in delegating tasks in the coming year to people I hope will follow through with action.
The Community Needs Assessment is a crucial exercise in promoting our Club as a significant Leader in the community. By partnering with the other leaders in the community, it will certainly generate new members, not by recruiting directly, but by their interest in what we’re doing. They’re likely to appreciate us more and want to be a part of us.
Like the old adage, “to be interesting, you need to be interested”. The worst thing that can happen is we start it and don’t finish it. So, before we go down that path, we need to thoroughly discuss this as to what we are committed to invest in time & energy. My two cents.
Thanks again for your interest in participating last night and for all you do for the Club. Merry Christmas to you and yours and a very happy & healthy New Year!!"
Sincerely, John
