A highlight every year at Jenkintown Rotary Club is the presentation of grants to local charities and non-profit organizations. On Tuesday December 23 the Rotary Club distributed $16,000 in grants. The money was raised by the club’s 51 members at events such as their Annual Pancake Breakfast, Raffles, and Citrus Sales. Due to the success of these events in 2017 Jenkintown Rotary was able to increase the grants by $2,000. Club President John Washington, Grant Committee Chair John DiBenedetto and Committee Member Chris Heaven presented the checks to representatives of 17 local organizations. DiBenedetto told the recipients, "We appreciate your support for our events and fund raisers. It is my pleasure to be able to give you these grants. We look forward to a continuing partnership with each of your organizations.”
Jenkintown Rotary meets for lunch on Tuesdays at 12:15 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Grace Presbyterian Church, 444 Old York Rd. in Jenkintown.
