Local Organizations Receive $15,650 from Jenkintown Rotary

The grant funds are the result of the club’s fund raising events such as “Ride 4 A Reason”, pancake breakfast & citrus fruit sales. Jenkintown Rotary meets for lunch on Tuesdays at 12:15 p.m. in Muyskens Hall at Grace Presbyterian Church in Jenkintown.
On Tuesday September 23 the Rotary Club of Jenkintown distributed checks to 18 local charitable organizations at their weekly meeting.  Each year the club hosts a number of fund raising events such as “Ride 4 A Reason”, a pancake breakfast and citrus fruit sales.  Some of the funds raised support Rotary International projects and some support local organizations.  This year the club dedicated $15,650 for local organizations and on Tuesday checks were presented to the recipients by John DiBenedetto, Vice-President and Chairman of the Club’s Grant Committee and Craig Pollen, the Club’s Treasurer. 

Jenkintown organizations receiving Rotary funds included the High School (scholarships), Day Nursery, Library and Loaves and Fishes Food Cupboard.  A number of Abington organizations also received funds including the Art Center, Township Human Relations Commission, Safe Harbor Health Center, Public Library, Police Athletic League and YMCA.  Other organizations receiving funds included Adults with Developmental Disabilities, Center School, Center for Parenting Education, League of Women Voters, Epilepsy Foundation, Penn State Abington, Temple Environmental Design Program and the Old York Road Historical Society.

Jenkintown Rotary  meets for lunch on Tuesdays at 12:15 p.m. in Muyskens Hall at Grace Presbyterian Church in Jenkintown.
